Plyometric exercises involve active contractions of muscles and joints done in an explosive manner through jumping. Plyo muscle movements exert maximum force in short intervals of time, with the goal of increasing power (speed-strength). This training focuses on learning to move from a muscle extension to a contraction in a rapid or “explosive” manner, such as in specialized repeated jumping. Burn up to 1,000 calories per class, and boost your resting metabolism which enables you to continue to burn after the class is over. After just a few weeks of enrollment, expect high levels of energy, an endorphin rush, highly visible body toning, and decrease in stress.
